detail: a
fingerprint is easily seen here behind the foliage of the tree; this is uniquely
a JMW Turner technique done in order to give atmospheric volume and movement to
his trees.
Thomas Moore wrote a poem about the vale called The Meeting of the Waters,
to quote:
"There is not in this wide world a vale so sweet, As that in whose
bosom the bright waters meet".
